TRIAL LESSON

  1. What does the trial class consist of?

The trial class is a free 30-minute session in which your child can experience a little bit of my methodology, before acquiring my services. Emotional connection is one of the foundations of my methodology, so this is the perfect opportunity for a first approach.

During this class, I will get to know your daughter/son and her/his learning objectives. I will explain how my classes work, I will analyze your kid’s level of Spanish and we will plan together, based on her/ his needs.

I will answer your questions about my classes and how online learning can work for you and your kid. In this link, you will find more information about what you need (link).

  1. What is the procedure to book a trial class?

You can book a trial class for your child from this page (link). Upon receiving your request, I will contact you by email to organize the class and set the day and time it will take place. Later, I will send you the zoom link to access the class, as well as the necessary specifications.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In case you have to cancel the trial class due to some unforeseen event, you need to do it at least 24 hours before.

  1. Can I be with my child during class?

It is important that the parent or guardian is present during the trial class as there will also be a space reserved for conversation and questions.

However, except for the trial class, it is not recommended that the father, mother, or guardian be present in the class, participating in it, responding for his son, or helping him to complete the activities. This will not help the child at all and for this reason, it is important that we all collaborate to favor the autonomy and responsibility of the child.

Collaborative work between father, mother, or guardian with the teacher will be essential for the proper functioning of the classes and communication must be fluid, providing the teacher with everything necessary for the class (camera, microphone, device, work materials, materials additional, etc)

PAYMENTS

  1. How do I pay for the classes?

After taking your trial lesson, I will send you the information with prices and payment methods. Once you have decided on the option that best suits your needs, I will send you a link so you can make the payment.

In order to reserve your classes, you must make the payment in advance.

The payment can be made through Stripe.

  1. Can I get a refund for the class package?

Yes, but only within the first 7 days (including weekends) after making the payment. This is due to the fact that when contracting the service, the time slot is reserved, which closes the possibility of it for another client. In addition, I offer you a free trial class to ensure that you can get to know my service before making your decision.

If you meet these criteria, the refund will only be made for the amount corresponding to the classes not taught, for which you must write to me at hola@guiluspanishroom.com specifying the reasons.

NECESSARY ELEMENTS FOR THE CLASSES

  1. What do I need for the classes?
  • A computer, laptop, or tablet that has a webcam.
  • Check that the Internet connection and the microphone and camera of your computer are working correctly.
  • Zoom is the program we use for the trial class video call. If you don’t already have it, be sure to download and install it before our class (it’s free!).
  • Find a space where your child feels calm, without noise, and with good lighting. The learning space is crucial! IMPORTANT: classes cannot be taught in bed or in the kitchen.
  • Tangible Materials: Classes require active student participation, so we will occasionally need materials (printouts, paper rolls, ingredients for recipes, playdough, etc.). In the case of children under 6 years of age, these materials will be required more frequently. Do not worry! I will notify you in time. These materials will facilitate the construction of learning from fun, involvement, and connection, since in these stages of development manipulation with the environment is essential.

  1. What program (software) do I need for the classes?

We will use Zoom, a free video-conferencing platform. It is necessary to install it before the session on your computer or tablet.

In order to enter the session, you just have to click on the link that I will send you before our session. I recommend that you come in 5-10 minutes early to check that the microphone and camera are working properly.

If you want to take a zoom test before our class, you can do it from this link: https://zoom.us/test

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASSES

  1. What is the duration of the classes?

The duration of the classes may vary depending on the needs, age, and level of your child. However, the two main durations are 30 or 55 minutes.

  1. How often is it recommended to have classes?

Normally, classes are scheduled 1 or 2 times a week. However, this may vary depending on the needs of each student.

I recommend that there be continuity in the classes for the medium to long term. Learning a language is a process in which it is necessary to invest time, commitment, and effort.

  1. Are there vacations or days off?

Yes, the teacher can enjoy vacations and days off at any time of the year. That is why I will notify you in advance, via email, of these dates so that you can consider these days off.

Likewise, families must notify in advance of the dates on which they will take vacations so that the teacher can consider them in her planning.

NOTE: On many occasions, the teacher and student vacation periods coincide partially or totally.

  1. Can I be with my son/daughter during class?

CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING OF CLASSES

  1. Do class packages expire?

Yes. Packages expire four months from the date of purchase. After that period, you will not be able to make the classes effective.

  1. Can I cancel or reschedule a class?

Yes. You can cancel or reschedule a class, but you must notify me by email (email) 24 hours in advance. In case you want to reschedule for the same week, it will be subject to time availability.

If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, the lesson will be considered given and cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

  1. What happens if the student is late for a class?
  • If the delay is less than 15 minutes, I will wait for you in the zoom session. Please let me know as soon as possible. However, the time lost due to delay will not be made up. The class will end at the usual time because I have to meet the schedules of the following students.

o In the case of siblings: if the first scheduled student arrives late, the previous procedure will be respected, that is, the delay time will not be recovered and it will end at the scheduled time. The class of the next sibling will start at the usual time.

  • After 15 minutes, if the student does not connect to the class, the zoom session will be closed and the class will be considered taught. If this happens, after the 15-minute tolerance, I will send you an email to let you know that the class is considered given and that we will resume the next day of class. This class cannot be rescheduled.

  1. What happens if technical problems occur in the class?

If technical problems occur to the student and these do not allow the class to be carried out in acceptable conditions, the teacher is not responsible. On the other hand, if the problems happen to the teacher, the student can reschedule the class at no extra cost.

It is important to check that you have the elements specified in question 6, as this will reduce the chances of technical problems.
